Join BLM Assistant State Archaeologist Nicole Lohman for a presentation about the methods used by indigenous peoples in the ancient American South to create and produce cordage, yarns, and textiles. You will learn about the materials that ancient peoples used, how they turned those fibers into yarns, and how those yarns were used to create a variety of perishable items. After the presentation, there will be a demonstration of some of the ancient spinning methods.
