Archaeologists have spent the last decade working to uncover the largely forgotten stories of Chinese railroad workers in Utah, whether on the Transcontinental Railroad in Box Elder County or the complex story of the Denver and Rio Grande Western in Emery, Grand, and Carbon Counties. Artifacts and the stories they hold are oftentimes the only way we can remember the first wave of immigrants of China. This talk will share what we have learned, and continue to investigate, about Utah’s Chinese history.
