Join Jansen Bennett, preservation architect at the Utah State Historic Preservation Office, for an architectural tour of Fort Douglas. Nestled at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, the fort serves as a prime example of early military architecture in Utah. We’ll discuss the storied development of the installation, as well as the technological developments that contributed to its construction.
We’ll meet at building 631 (the Museum), where we’ll have a brief historical overview before heading on a tour with stops at the following buildings (in no particular order as of yet):
– Building 655
– Post Chapel
– Post Theater
– Commander’s Residence
– Officer’s Circle
– Officer’s Club
– Bandstand
Wear comfortable walking shoes and layers to make the most of this late-October day!
