Fort Deseret Remudding Presentation

May 22 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
A watercolor painting of a sun-drenched, ancient adobe wall with a rectangular doorway opening in the center.
Fort Deseret is the only remaining example of an adobe fort, which were once common in Utah. Constructed in 1865 out of mud and straw, it served as an important outpost for the Mormon settlers in the area. The walls were once 10 feet high,  but weather and time have continually reduced them. Over the years the community has rebuilt them several times.
On the evening of Friday, May 22nd, there will be an introductory presentation on the history of the fort and its significance at 6:30pm, and on Saturday, May 23rd there will be a remudding project where the community can help restore the structure again. Join us for either event or both!
