Every year in Utah, organizations around the state host events to honor Archaeology and Historic Preservation Month. In the run-up to this year’s celebration in May, the Utah SHPO is highlighting great partners and successful events. Here we speak to Ron Rood of Metcalf Archaeology about one of their events from May 2024.
Danger Cave Tour by Metcalf Archaeology
Tell us about your event.
The event consisted of guided, archaeological tours of Danger Cave State Monument and Juke Box Cave. These tours have been part of a cooperative agreement between Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. and the Utah State Parks. Since 2018, we have provided tours for 1,000 people.
