Announcing Utah SHPO’s autumn Regional Hub in Price, Utah!
Join us for a day of educational sessions that will help your community take advantage of all the State Historic Preservation Office has to offer. Our services range from technical assistance from a historic architect, financial incentives for historic preservation, and even support with urban and nearby archaeological sites.
Meet members of your community working in the areas of historic preservation, Main Streets, and archaeology and be inspired!
Agenda:
- 8:30am: Welcome Price City
- 8:45-915am: What is the State Historic Preservation Office
- 9:15-10:00am: National Register of Historic Places (What it is, and why it is good)
- 10:00-1030am: Certified Local Governments
- 10:30-11:00am: Tax Credits (Federal & State) for Historic Rehabilitation
- 11:00am-11:30am: Cemeteries Program Overview
- 11:30am-12:00pm: Utah Cultural Site Stewardship Program
- 12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch Provided
- 1:00pm-4:00pm: Main Street Workshop and Price Main Street Walking Tour
- Location: Meet at the USU Prehistoric Museum Classroom at 1:15pm
- 1:15 pm- 1:45pm, Main Street Classroom Chat
- 1:45 pm – 2:00 pm, Breakout groups for Main Street Walk
- 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Exploring Main Street: Walking tour and conversations
- 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Main Street Activity: Activating Main (back in classroom)
