Archaeological Laws Explored with SHPO: Key Lessons and Regulatory Changes from 2025

November 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

UCSS is excited to continue hosting a series of archaeological and cultural heritage law discussions that give a conversational overview of topics important to cultural resources in Utah. Our next topic will be “A Year in Review, 2025: Some Key Lessons and Regulatory Changes.” Please register at the event link below so we know to expect you!

Although SHPO Chris Merritt himself describes this title as about as “exciting as watching drywall age”, 2025 has been a complicated year of regulatory changes, executive orders, and staffing. Even with many changes, there are always ‘wins’ in the preservation world as well. We’ll be exploring the past year, making sure there’s room for reflection and some sunshine in the world of cultural resource law.
  • All sessions in 2025 will be hosted virtually AND in-person at the SHPO office in Millcreek, Utah
  • All sessions will begin at 12:00 pm (Mountain Standard Time). Please feel free to bring your lunch to the meeting.
  • Please register in order to be provided with more information on the meeting as the date approaches.
  • Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
